CODE OF CONDUCT

The companies associated with Silkeborg Peru agree to follow the following code of conduct:

The code of conduct describes and outlines the ethical principles of Silkeborg Peru’s labor relations. It complies with international standards and universal principles to ensure fair trade. Respect for human rights enables a viable and sustainable business over time.

Freedom of Association

In accordance with Peruvian laws, workers, without discrimination, have the right to unionize and/or establish a union. Employers must adopt an open attitude towards the development of a free and independent association.

Wages, Working Hours, and Conditions

Wages must at least meet the legal requirements and always be sufficient to satisfy the basic needs of workers and provide discretionary income for their families. Working hours must comply with Peruvian laws; a worker should not exceed 48 hours per week and must have one day off for every 7-day period. Overtime must be voluntary and follow legal regulations. Wages are paid regularly, on time, and in the most convenient manner for the worker. All workers must have a work contract that includes terms of employment, salary, benefits, and conditions.

Safety and Health

Work must be carried out in a safe and hygienic environment. Precautionary measures must be taken to prevent accidents that may endanger workers. Workers must receive training on occupational health and safety. Facilities must be clean and safe to meet workers’ basic needs.

Working Conditions

We reject forced or compulsory labor, human trafficking, or labor exploitation.

Workers are allowed to leave under reasonable conditions, such as a personal or family emergency. Overtime must be voluntary.

There is no recruitment of child labor. Individuals under 18 years of age must not be employed for night shifts or hazardous work.

No Discrimination

Discrimination in hiring, compensation, promotion, dismissal, or retirement based on race, religion, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, or political affiliation is not permitted.

Workers must be hired based on their job skills.

Anti-Corruption

We reject corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery. Gifts and/or favors must not be accepted or offered.

Monitoring and Evaluation

Monitoring and evaluation are essential to ensure compliance and commitment from our suppliers.

The Silkeborg Peru staff maintains constant contact with our associated companies to ensure that activities are conducted in accordance with this code of conduct.
